LEC Summer 2026: Format, Results and Final Standings

LEC Summer 2026 ran July 24 to Sept 20. G2 swept Movistar KOI 3-0 in Nice. Format, venues, standings, playoffs and Worlds qualifiers explained.

The LEC Summer Split 2026 is over. It ran from July 24 to September 20, 2026, and G2 Esports won it by sweeping Movistar KOI (MKOI) 3-0 in the grand final at the Palais Nikaïa in Nice, France. G2, MKOI and Karmine Corp are the three LEC teams heading to the 2026 World Championship. Below is how the split was organised, how the standings and playoffs played out, and what is next.

Format and schedule

According to the official LoL Esports announcement, Summer 2026 used the same format as Spring. Ten teams played a single round robin of best-of-three series, and the top six advanced to a playoff bracket made up entirely of best-of-five series. The playoffs were a seeded double-elimination bracket. The top three teams in the playoffs qualify for Worlds, as Wikipedia's season summary describes it.

The key dates from LoL Esports:

  • July 24 to August 30: regular season, four days a week (Friday to Monday), two best-of-threes per day and three on the final day.
  • September 5 to 20: playoffs. Each show day had a best-of-five starting at 17:00 CEST.
  • September 18 to 20: Summer Finals in Nice. Friday decided the final Worlds qualifier, Saturday the top two seeds, and Sunday the champion.

LoL Esports also stated there were no mid-season breaks, so the split ran nine straight weeks.

Venues

Most regular-season matches were played at the Riot Games Arena in Berlin, and the playoffs used three locations, per Wikipedia and LoL Esports:

Stage Venue Dates
Opening weekend (Karmine Corp roadtrip) adidas Arena, Paris July 24 to 26
Playoff week one (Movistar KOI roadtrip) Madrid Arena, Madrid September 5 to 6
Later playoff rounds Riot Games Arena, Berlin September 11 to 12
Summer Finals Palais Nikaïa, Nice September 18 to 20

Tickets for Berlin matches were listed at 15 euros for the first weeks, and LoL Esports noted that Monday and Friday regular-season days were broadcast without a live audience. Week 5 was played on a new broadcast-first Studio Stage.

The ten teams and the final regular-season standings

Players.com.ua's regular-season recap lists these final results, with match record first:

  1. Karmine Corp: 9-0 (18-2 in games)
  2. Team Vitality: 7-2
  3. G2 Esports: 6-3
  4. GIANTX: 5-4
  5. Natus Vincere: 5-4
  6. Movistar KOI: 4-5
  7. Fnatic: 3-6
  8. SK Gaming: 3-6
  9. Team Heretics: 2-7
  10. Shifters: 1-8

The top four started the playoffs in the upper bracket, and Natus Vincere and Movistar KOI entered through the lower bracket quarterfinals. The same report names Natus Vincere's Rhilech as the regular season's most-awarded MVP player with four awards.

How the playoffs went

Details below come from GosuGamers, Inven Global and Wikipedia's bracket:

  • Upper bracket: G2 swept Team Vitality 3-0 in the semifinal, then beat Karmine Corp 3-1 in the upper final.
  • Lower bracket: MKOI beat Team Vitality 3-2, Natus Vincere 3-1 and then Karmine Corp 3-0 in the lower final.
  • Grand final (September 20, Nice): G2 beat MKOI 3-0. Inven reports the first game lasted under 28 minutes.

G2's title was its 20th LEC championship and fourth in a row, and Inven adds that it completed a sweep of the 2026 domestic season after winning LEC Versus and the Spring Split. Support Labros "Labrov" Papoutsakis was named Finals MVP. Wikipedia lists Karmine Corp's Caliste as season MVP.

What is next: Worlds 2026

G2 goes to Worlds as the LEC's top seed, with MKOI and Karmine Corp as the other two representatives. Inven says the tournament runs from October 15 to November 14 in the United States, with the play-in in Los Angeles, the Swiss stage, quarterfinals and semifinals in Allen, Texas, and the final at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

What event organisers can take from this format

The LEC's structure is worth studying if you run leagues or online cups. A round robin gives every team the same number of matches, which keeps the standings fair. A short seeded double-elimination bracket then gives the teams that finished lower a second chance, as MKOI proved by winning three straight series in the lower bracket before reaching the final. If you want to model something similar, a seeded double-elimination bracket with a group or league stage is straightforward to set up. The trade-off is time: best-of-fives need long show days, so the LEC generally scheduled one per show day.
